Welcome to North Jackson School!

North Jackson School proudly serves students from Pre-Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Since 1980, we have been committed to addressing the educational needs of our community. Our school is conveniently located in the heart of Jackson, surrounded by several prominent neighborhoods and churches, which enables us to foster a nurturing environment for our students every day.

School Philosophy

We, the faculty of North Jackson Elementary School, believe that an atmosphere conducive to the total development of the child; intellectually, personally, socially, and physically should be provided. We except a major responsibility for helping children to develop competence in reading and language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, health, art, music, physical education and technology.

We believe that the school should encourage each child to reach his/her full potential, to develop into valuable citizens in our society, to develop a positive self-concept and to become well rounded individuals.

We believe that, above all else, the welfare of the child should be our major priority. The school should provide the child with many rich and enjoyable experiences that will increase his/her desire for knowledge . The school's programs should be constantly evaluated as to student growth, effectiveness of current methods and materials, and according to the school and economic demands created by society.

North Jackson Elementary School is a place for students to learn, teachers to teach and parents to be involved.
